The ESRC Centre for Population Change (CPC) is investigating how and why our population is changing and the impact on individuals, communities and governments. The Centre is a partnership between the Universities of Southampton, St. Andrews, Edinburgh, Stirling and Strathclyde. Our research is developed with UK National Statistics institutes.

China Population and Development Research Center, is an important decision-making think tank of China National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC). It has established expertise on survey and population projection as well as conduct of policy-oriented studies and provision of policy advisory services to the Government in the area of population and development.

8   Population Division – Department of Economic and Social Affairs – United Nations

The UN Population Division provides timely population data and analysis for all countries and areas of the world and assists countries in developing their capacity to collect, disseminate and analyse demographic data and information. The Division was created in 1946 and serves as the secretariat for the Commission on Population and Development tasked to monitor, review and assess the implementation of the Programme of Action of the 1994 ICPD. The Division supports other UN intergovernmental processes and participates in various UN inter-agency coordination mechanisms.
